Space & Time to Explore Residencies

One Space and Time to Explore residency is being offered by Motion Chapel in 2026.

This bursary is offered for a group of up to 6 artists to come and stay to explore new ideas for 5 days in Motion Chapel. Artists will stay in a dorm room and will have exclusive access to the training space for 5 days. Elise and Emmet will be available for informal advice during their stay.

This residency is targeted towards research and exploration, giving the artists time to explore working as a group and new ideas/disciplines/mediums/concepts etc. The aim is not to create a finished piece.

The space can be configured to include a single point free standing rig if required.

The residencies are open nationally and internationally to professional artists working in the field of circus and street arts. Motion Chapel selects artists based on artistic quality, necessity, diversity and how the project resonates with the selection committee.

What’s Included:

·   Shared access to the Motion Chapel community and office space.

·   Exclusive access to the Motion Chapel training space for 8 hours per day shared access in the evenings.

·   Access to the grounds of Motion Chapel.

·   €50 Travel Allowance.

·   €200 Artist Stipend???

·   €300 Documentation Stipend.

·   4 nights of accommodation

·   Self catered kitchen facilities available, Artist dinner included.

·   The option to be interviewed for a podcast episode on their research.
