The Roscommon show development residency is back, but make that two!
The Show Development Residency 2026 is the continuation of the exciting partnership between Roscommon’s newest residency space Motion Chapel (MC), and Roscommon Arts Centre (RAC).
In 2026, we are proud to offer two show development residencies, supporting two companies to either finish creating or to remount an existing show for an indoor stage.
Suitable for companies or artists who would like time to remount a piece of work or develop existing work further with support of a residency time and space in MC and time to work on technical aspects within the RAC’s studio/workshops space and auditorium.
Suitable for artists/companies in the process of creating or remounting an indoor show for theatres/arts centres, open to circus, dance, movement, theatre or multidisciplinary art-forms. Please note there is the option of an aerial tripod rig of 6m in Motion Chapel, and rigging available in Roscommon Arts Centre’s auditorium.

Key Criteria:
Companies should apply with an already very well developed concept for an indoor show, or a show that needs remounting. This can be ground-based or aerial, and should show previous creation time already invested. It is open to circus, dance, movement, theatre or multidisciplinary art-forms.
The suggested company size is up to two artists, based on budget limitations. Do speak to us if more artists are involved.
Companies must be confident that they can deliver a very well developed work in progress showing of a minimum of 20 minutes by the end of the creation and rehearsal time, and be able to be part of a double bill work in progress showing in Roscommon Art Centre in November 2026.
Partnership with Motion Chapel, Roscommon Arts Centre and Roscommon County Council Arts Office, with support from Arts Council of Ireland.
