Space & Time to Create Residency
Do you have a new outdoor show in the making that just needs that extra push to get over the finish line?
Motion Chapel is proud to partner with Rosorcas Festival of Circus Arts and Cavan Arts Festival to offer a joint residency for exciting new outdoor work: Space and Time to Create.
This opportunity includes a week-long creation residency at Motion Chapel for up to two artists and one director/outside eye, 3 days rehearsal time in Motion Chapel leading up to Cavan Arts Festival, as well as a paid work in progress showing at CAF and one at Rosorcas.
20-24 of April 2026:
Creation Residency at Motion Chapel.
- 5 hours access to the Chapel for Creation, unlimited access to the Tree stage (outdoors) for rehearsals and the communal working areas
- 5 nights accommodation for up to 3 people (2 artists, one extra creative staff if needed) in a shared dorm
- Self-catered breakfast and lunch, optional communal dinner provided
- 650€ artist stipend for two artists each
- 1000€ production support
11-14 of May 2026:
Rehearsal Time at Motion Chapel.
- Unlimited access to the Tree stage (outdoor) for rehearsals, limited time available in the chapel as needed
- 250€ artist stipend for up to two artists each
- 2 nights accommodation for up to 2 people in a shared dorm
- Self-catered breakfast and lunch, optional communal dinner provided
16-17 May 2026
Perform at Cavan Arts Festival.
- 400€ fee per artist
- Rehearsal space if needed
- accommodation for up to two artists
- self catered
23-24 May 2026
Perform at Rosorcas Festival of Circus Arts.
- 400€ fee per artist
- accommodation for up to two artists
- self catered
Key Criteria:
Companies should apply with an already very well developed concept for an outdoor show. This can be ground-based or aerial, and should show previous creation time already invested.
The suggested company size is up to two artists, based on budget limitations. Do speak to us if more artists are involved.
Companies must be confident that they can deliver a very well developed work in progress showing of a minimum of 20 minutes by the end of the creation and rehearsal time.
This residency is open to international applicants, but please be advised that we cannot cover international flights/travel costs.
