Circilár PRO is a 7-month professional training program for emerging and established circus artists based in Ireland and beyond. Designed to support the development of technical skill, creative expression, and career sustainability, the course combines intensive training, personal mentorship, and career-focused guidance.
The course is divided into three modules:
1) Foundations (11th Jan – 12th March, 9 weeks, full-time, Longford, 1 week break 15-19th February): Core training in theatre, dance, creation & chreography physical preparation, acrobatics/aerial and manipulation/equlibristics. There will also be professional development sessions on rigging, injury prevention, business skills, and more.
2) Personal Development (29th March – 4th June, 10 weeks, part-time, local/online): One-on-one tuition tailored to the student’s goals, with access to subsidised training space and personalised physical conditioning plans as well as a 2 day mid course check-in at Motion Chapel.
3) Next Steps (Dates vary depending on the option you choose, 7th June – 7th August, part-time with 1 week, full-time, Roscommon): There will be a 3 day creation focused workshop for all students at Motion Chapel. For the remainder of the module students choose a specialisation — Circus School Preparation, Pedagogy for Tutors, or Project Development. Includes a mentored residency and final sharing of work.
Circilár PRO is led by a team of highly experienced tutors and will give you 198 hours of tuition in total.
The course costs €1,500 (plus €500 if onsite accommodation is required for Module 1), and is eligible for Arts Council Ireland’s Agility Award funding. Class size is limited to 12 participants.
